As a member of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, you gain the strength and the voice of many—your brothers and sisters in the union. You have the protection of a contract and dignity on the job.

Through collective action as a union member, you receive a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work, safety and health protection on the job, education and training opportunities, health and welfare coverage for you and your family, a pension plan and burial benefits.
Find out more about the following benefits, which are available to our members.

Burial Benefit

The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers has established a burial benefit plan to assist members of the Union. A burial benefit will be paid on behalf of an eligible active member as provided for in the International Constitution and By-Laws upon completed application.

Contact your local business manager to learn more.

Pension Funds

If your employer has agreed to participate in the National Roofing Industry Pension Plan (NRIPP) and makes contributions on your behalf, and you satisfy the NRIPP’s eligibility requirements, you may be eligible for a monthly retirement check when you retire from the roofing industry. You may also be eligible for other benefits such as disability and, for your spouse or beneficiary, death benefits.

In order for you to be a part of the National Roofing Industry Supplemental Pension Plan (NRISPP)–a defined contribution plan–your local union must negotiate for contributions to be made by your employer to the NRISPP for you. If you are a participant in the NRISPP, employer contributions go into your NRISPP account and are invested over your working years.

To learn more about the NRIPP or NRISPP, contact the Fund office or visit its website.

Emergency Response Team

The Roofers and Waterproofers Emergency Response Team (ERT) is available to assist members, their families and their co-workers in the event of a catastrophic accident on the jobsite. If there is a serious jobsite accident, any member, local union office, family member or contractor can call (833) 499-0153 to be matched with an ERT responder for assistance.
